Seasons Greetings everyone. I have been very busy lately with some
new and exciting projects that will be coming to you in the next year
(that should explain the missing November newsletter). So all excuses
aside, let’s talk holiday. With party season in full swing it is time
to dress up and have some fun. There are a few great ways to add some
glitz to your look without resembling a Christmas tree.
False lashes are a flirty way to glam up your eyes. You can buy an
inexpensive set at the local drugstore. Go for the most natural looking
ones you can find that are not too thick or too long. Curl your own
lashes first with an eye lash curler then snip the falsies in half with
scissors. Apply only half of them with lash glue to the outside corners
of the eyes. Sweep a liquid liner all along the lash line extending
out just a bit at the corners. Next coat all your lashes with black
mascara. The look will be very sexy.
Shimmer is another festive touch when applied in the right areas.
Try dusting the shoulders, cleavage, and sprinkle a little into your
hair for a dazzling look. A little dab of this glowy goodness always
looks amazing on top of the cheekbones as well. For fair skin try pale
pink or iridescent, for medium skin peachy-apricot shades look best and
for darker complexions go for the gold.
Wearing the perfect red lip color is a great way to get their
attention. The way I make it last all night long is to stain the lips
first with a reddish lip tint like Benefit’s Benetint. Next line your
lips with a nude lip liner (it stops bleeding). Finally sweep on a
crimson shade in the right hue for you. Don’t use gloss because this
will just look like overkill. For fair skin use blue based reds that
have a more pink tone. Medium skin looks best in a true reds. Warmer
complexions look great in brick and tomato. Darker skin tones can play
with deeper reds and merlots.
Don’t forget your nails! If red lips make you nervous try red nails.
A matching red mani-pedi will look very hot with a little black party
dress. Another way to go is sparkly fingers and toes. Play with
mettalics like silver and gold. You can also layer a crystal glitter
over your usual shade for a new twist on an old favorite. So this
season think lashes, red lips, sparkling skin and fun nails. You will
make their jaws drop.
