What's New For Spring

Hey ladies, spring is almost here and like you I am ready for it! To feel alive and awake from our long winter, choose pretty shades of pinks and berries for lips and cheeks. This will give you that youthful flush without having to revamp your entire makeup wardrobe. For fair redheads choose pinky/peach shades and for blondes petal pink works best for you. Brunettes look gorgeous in berry shades and dark skinned beauties can go for bold pinks and bright cherries. Remember to choose sheer shades and easy on the shimmer, you want to look natural and fresh not glitzy. I like to pair this look with an eye that has been subtly highlighted with a little pale gold shimmer and finished with lot's of mascara! For all you bronze-happy gals, take it easy this year. To get a beautiful bronze look try mixing a bit of liquid bronzer into your foundation for a quick and easy way to get glowing. Another thing to try is a light aerosol bronzer and lightly spray your face and body before a big night. You can also try the new aerosol bronzers on the market. Lightly spray your face and body before a big night out for a look that says summer not savage.

Tool Box

Makeup tools and brushes are just as important as finding the right shades. Makeup goes on easier and faster when you have the right tools and there is less chance of bad blending, too much color delivery or cakey looking powders. I am going to give you a list of the most needed tools in your arsenal of beauty.

  1. Tweezers. Splurge on the good ones with a sharp point but take care. You can go overboard if your not careful.
  2. Non-latex sponges. For blending on seamless foundation these are a must have for any woman. My favorites are Upstage Wedges that I find at Walgreens.
  3. Q-tips. For fast touch ups and quick fixes these classics should always be around.
  4. A synthetic flat round tipped concealer brush. This is perfect for disguising dark circles or any flaw that needs just a touch of coverup.
  5. A highlight eye shadow brush for the eyes. A soft brush made from squirrel hair is perfect for delivering just the right hint of shimmering eye shadow in all of the right places.
  6. A big fluffy powder brush. This is used for powder blush. Forget about the past and using this one for face powder. For a more natural flush use a big powder style brush to deliver just the right amount of flush to the cheek.
  7. An angle brush for eye liner and another one for brows. This is the quickest and easiest way to soften eye liner or line with powder shadow and the other is great for filling in the brows oh so naturally.
  8. Small section eye lash curler. This little curler offers a quick and easy way to curl the outer corners only.
  9. Japanese fan brush. For applying shimmery highlight to the top of the cheekbones and to dust shimmer on the collar bone this is a must have.
  10. You should have a mini version of these brushes for traveling. You don’t want to take up tons of space with your big ones so buy the little travel brush rolls that have everything you need.
