How do I keep my mascara from running down my face? I've tried putting
powder under my eyes, on my eyelashes, and using waterproof mascara only
on the top lashes - so far nothing has worked. Thanks.
Carmindy:
First off, never put powder on the lashes for this will only cause flaking. Putting a little
foundation and powder on the eye lids and under the eyes is a good start, and so is using
waterproof mascara. I suggest trying a new formula mascara like the one by Blinc called Kiss
Me Mascara. It's oil-free, and the mascara actually bonds to your lashes like a rubber. Try applying
this on the top lashes only and you'll be smudge-free all day.
Nancy Hanson from Barrington Illinois writes:
How do I make my brown eyes stand out? I have blondish/brown hair with blonde eyelashes.
Carmindy:
Try lining them with a navy or sapphire blue pencil. Get as close to the lash line as possible so your
eyes don't scream blue, but the subtle color will make your brown eyes really pop. For blonde eyelashes
use a black mascara with a smaller wand so you can really cover the blonde.
Johanna Bubela from El Campo, Texas writes:
I was recently in a car accident, and had an eyebrow injury requiring 15 stitches. The result is a boomerang shaped scar that goes across
my eyelid, just above the crease, straight out towards my temple, and then turning and running up just at the tip of my eyebrow. The scar
on the eyelid crease has healed really well,
but the corner of it that is just to the edge of my eyebrow is still a bit red and just a bit swollen, as well (it has only been 4 weeks).
I was given the go-ahead to wear makeup, but when I tried to do some concealing, it just made it look worse! My doctor told me to keep
the scar moist, and to just use Vaseline, which I have been doing, but I have some parties coming up and I hate the way people look at
me when they see that scar. I do have a haircut with bangs that cover it somewhat, but I'd like some help on camouflaging it, at least
for the parties, with a non-drying product.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Carmindy:
First off you are so lucky to be okay. God was certainly watching over you. If this scar is fresh it is much better to focus on what
the doctor says and keep it moist and forget the vanity. You will be thankful later on when it heals correctly. There is nothing better
than time to get rid of scars. Trust me, people are not looking at you in horror the way you imagine they are. If they ask what happened,
it sure makes for good conversation. Try vitamin E oil at night to help healing and reduce scarring. As for concealing it when it's time
try this. First blend a sheer foundation over your face. Next use a small concealer brush to brush on a thick pot concealer (like Dermablend)
over the scar. Make sure the concealer matches your foundation shade. Finally powder it with translucent powder to set. This way your scar
is concealed, but not your whole face.
