Around my eyes near the tops of my cheekbones the skin is really red from rosacea and when I wear colored eye shadow it just looks worse. Any suggestions?
Carmindy:
First off apply a foundation all over your skin including eyelids and under the eyes. Next tap on a yellow tinted neutralizing concealer on top of the red areas around the eyes to eliminate the rosacea. Lightly dust on a yellow neutralizing face powder to set the makeup. Try my Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy Fast Fix Concealer in Neutralizer and Truly Translucent Loose Powder in Neutralizer. Now Line the upper lash line with a deep jewel toned liner like an amethyst or a forest green. Sweep a pale champagne highlighter across the lid and finish with black mascara on the top lashes only. Skip applying anything on the lower lash line so you keep it clean looking. Your eyes will look fantastic!

My skin is peeling from a bad sunburn I got at the beach last weekend. Any suggestions on wearing makeup so I don't look like a snake?
Carmindy:
Bad girl, where was your sunscreen? Okay no lectures because you are paying the price now. Try to keep your skin slathered in aloe at night and do not pick or peel the skin. During the day use a high SPF sunscreen followed by a rich natural fragrance free moisturizing cream. Lightly tap on a liquid foundation with a non-latex sponge and use cream blush in a tawny neutral shade. Skip using a lot of powder because this will just make the peeling skin look obvious so use blotting papers to control shine or lightly dab on just a hint of sheer translucent powder to the T-zone only. Keep the eyes simple with a subtle liner on the upper lashes and black mascara and for your lips apply just a slightly shimmering nude tinted balm. Stay away from a lot of colorful makeup until your skin has a chance to heal and become its normal texture again.

I wear fire engine red lipstick all the time it is my signature. I always get lipstick on my teeth and in every photo it looks like I have a missing tooth. What should I do?
Carmindy:
It sounds like you may be applying too much lipstick. Try sweeping on a lighter application and then put your pointer finger in your mouth. Now purse your lips around it and pull the finger out. The extra lipstick will wind up on your finger and not on your teeth. This was one of my grandmother's favorite tricks because she was just like you with her signature red lips.
